California Prop 65
California Proposition 65 – Commitment to Safety and Transparency
1. Commitment to Safety and Transparency
Olenphogy is committed to transparency, quality, and consumer safety. California’s Proposition 65 (“Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986”) requires businesses to provide warnings to California residents about significant exposures to chemicals known to the State to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. These chemicals may be found in household products, including dietary supplements.
2. What is California’s Proposition 65?
The California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 requires businesses to disclose possible exposure to chemicals listed by the State of California.
-
Common Name: Better known as Prop 65, the law enforces the consumer’s “right to know.”
-
Applicability: Prop 65 applies not only to drinking water, but also to consumer goods such as food, clothing, toys, dietary supplements, and other products sold in California.
3. Chemicals on the Proposition 65 Lists
The Prop 65 lists include hundreds of naturally occurring and man-made chemicals.
Chemicals can be found in:
-
-
Pesticides, insecticides, and construction materials
-
Common household products, foods, drugs, alcoholic beverages, and nutritional supplements
-
Note: Some chemicals, such as lead, cadmium, and arsenic, occur naturally in the environment. Certain mineral and botanical ingredients in dietary supplements may therefore require a Prop 65 warning.
4. Are Products with a Prop 65 Warning Safe?
-
A Prop 65 warning does not mean the product is unsafe.
-
Natural occurrence and environmental factors may contribute to trace chemical presence.
-
Warnings are provided in compliance with the law, which includes over 800 testing and exposure criteria.
5. Olenphogy’s Compliance and Safety Measures
Olenphogy products undergo rigorous quality control and independent third-party testing:
-
Third-Party Testing: Accredited laboratories test each batch for heavy metals, pesticides, banned substances, label accuracy, and purity.
-
Manufacturing Oversight: Annual audits of production facilities ensure consistent quality.
-
Ingredient Review: Toxicological evaluations confirm levels are within safe thresholds.
-
Contaminant Screening: Each product is screened for heavy metals, mold, pesticides, and other harmful substances.
-
Exposure Level Compliance: All products are formulated to comply with Prop 65 safe exposure limits (NSRL/MADL).
